April 10th, 2024 We officially signed the documents making [MesoReefDAO](https://x.com/MesoReefDAO/status/1778300483351838868) a [legal entity](https://optimism.easscan.org/attestation/view/0xf0b7cd460437a77cd0d1b072b1a4efe2cc6ac35986b731e55ffe6d6c2084ace7) in Mexico.

**January - March, 2024** Preparation of documents and formalization of MesoReefDAO as a non-profit organization (A.C.) in Mexico. Acceptance of eight poster/oral presentations for the SOMAC's “XII Mexican Coral Reef Congress and III Pan-American Coral Reef Congress” to be held in April 2024. Some members of MesoReefDAO will participate in Session #2 with presentation numbers 69, 76, 85, 90, 137, and 144. MesoReefDAO will also present its project in Session #3 with presentation number 256. Project updates within MesoReefDAO's 'Restoration of the Biodiversity of Fish Assemblages in the Mexican Caribbean' include the preparation of post-larvae traps, material replacements, and maintenance for the 2024-2025 project. Participation of MesoReefDAO at ETHcinco de Mayo as a DeSci Community with a panel of DeSci with DeSciworld and DeSci MX members Engagement and workshop aimed at middle school students focusing on scientific outreach activities as part of the 11F initiative, titled 'Girl Divers for a Day. Participation in the 'Divers for a Day' workshop, targeted at remote middle school students. Outreach Workshop: 'Aquarium Diversity' – Coral Reef and Aquarium Conservation Activities Led by Undergraduates. Participation of MesoReefDAO at ETH Denver in the DeSci Summit: Auranova, SciOS, Nerdlabs hacker house, and other side events. Project updates within MesoReefDAO's 'Restoration of the Biodiversity of Reef Assemblages in the Mexican Caribbean,' in collaboration with Iberostar Wave of Change and LEEAC Cinvestav Unidad Merida, include a technical report on aquarium maintenance. MesoReefDAO and Notessential.io have allied with the potential to support projects in Southeast Asian and Micronesian coral reefs. May - July (part 1) 2023 One of our members has joined Greenpill.network and is actively engaging with GreenPill México to create synergies with MesoReefDAO for onboarding stakeholders to regenerative conservation practices. He participated in the 1st Cohort of Regen writers and presented three essays entitled: "Bridging the Gap: A Regen Guide to Integrating Conservation Biology and DeSci Web3 Tools in the Anthropocene" (part 1),(part 2),(part 3). We applied to bio.xyz biotech acceleration program as MesoReefDAO. Participation with DeSci divulgation articles on T2.world within the DeSci Territory. **Q2/Q3-2023** - Monitor project growth and promote it through social media, summits, forums, and academic conferences. ✓ We talked with members of NGOs like Healthy Reefs Initiative and Coral Reef Alliance to create positive synergies in the region. ✓ We promoted our initiative on the Mesoamerican Reef Day 2023 and FLII ROOTS 2023.

January - April 2023 Updates Pt. 2 Q2/Q3-2023 -Create the framework for the MesoReefDAO [DeSci DAO: protocol, governance, incentives, organization, operations, and applications. ✓ We are working on this DeSciDAO framework, and we need more engagement. - Apply for both traditional and decentralized grants. ✓ Our initiative has made it through the first round of the Mar+Invest program and we are expecting to hear back by the end of April regarding our status for the next round. ✓ We create a giveth project of MesoReefDAO. ✓ We look for support to scale or initiative in terms of DeSci DAO with Origami (we must have at least +100 active members to scale with their help). ✓ We applied for Beta Gitcoin Grants: Climate Solutions + DeSci + Metacrisis Rounds.

**Q1-2023** - Assemble transdisciplinary experts and core members for MesoReefDAO. ✓ We are still looking for transdisciplinary scientists and many guilds. - Acquire mesoreefdao.eth and create a safe.global for funds. ✓ We are looking to acquire the ENS domain. - Promote the proposal on social media. ✓ We have created a Twitter, Instagram, Discord, a GitHub repo, and Notion the information about the initiative and to engage potential members.
